FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to corrosion-resistant aluminium alloys with high content of magnesium and methods for their obtaining. Systems and methods for continuous casting of items in the form of sheets or plates from Al-Mg alloy, which have high content of magnesium, have been developed. The method involves continuous casting of Al-Mg alloy containing 6 wt % to 10 wt % Mg, hot rolling of Al-Mg alloy till thickness is less than 6.35 mm, annealing of Al-Mg alloy in a furnace. The annealing stage includes heating of Al-Mg alloy at increased temperature and during the period of time sufficient to obtain an annealed state, and cooling of Al-Mg alloy. The heating stage at annealing involves heating of Al-Mg alloy till temperature T1 is in the range of approximately 365°C to approximately 500°C, during at least about 2 hours. After the cooling stage is completed, Al-Mg alloy contains many grains having boundaries and is free from solid film from phase β at grain boundaries.
EFFECT: items obtained from Al-Mg alloy are resistant to corrosion cracking under stress and to intergranular corrosion.
