FIELD: medicine, pharmaceutics.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine and describes a method of treating a pathological condition caused by free radicals in a patient involving administering the first ingredient into the patient, wherein the first ingredient is a manganese complex of Formula I in an amount effective for treating the pathological condition, and the second ingredient, which is other than the manganese complex of Formula I in an amount effective to reduce manganese absorption by the patient's brain as compared to the first ingredient if administered without the second one, wherein the second ingredient is administered in an amount from approximately 1 to 20 mcmole/kg, wherein the first ingredient and the second ingredient are taken in the first ingredient/second ingredient ratio from approximately 1:1 to 1:10 of body weight, and wherein the second ingredient is supposed to be administered optionally with one or more physiologically acceptable carriers and/or additives.
EFFECT: invention provides reducing manganese dissociation and lower neurotoxicity.
