SUBSTANCE: exciter (15) exciting power conversion device (9) comprised of switching element (3) formed of semiconductor with wide band gap includes PWM signals output module (11), which generates exciting signal that excites switching element (3) by means of PWM; closing speed reducing module (13), which reduces activity rate when switching element (3) is switched from off state into on state; and closing speed increasing module (14), which, when switching element (3) is switched from on state into off state, extracts charge from switching element (3) at high speed and productivity exceeding productivity of charge extraction at the moment when switching element (3) is switched from off state into on state.

EFFECT: improved transient characteristics at switching.
