FIELD: chemmotology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemmotology, specifically to solid-state indicator devices and devices for determining fuels and lubricants and can be used for rapid visual detection of underground leakage of liquid hydrocarbon fuels in the soil, under welds and joints. The device contains a pipe 1, on which a millimeter scale for measuring the depth of immersion of the device into the soil is applied and inside which is placed a metal cylindrical rod 2 freely passing through the central hole in the cover 4 and having an outer handle 5 on the upper end. An external thread is made on the lower end of the rod for docking with an axial groove in the upper part of the removable nozzle 6, having a cylindrical section and a conical tip 7, with its apex facing the surface of the analyzed soil. The conical tip 7 is made with an elongated threaded axis 8 for connection with the cylindrical part of the nozzle, in the lower end of which there is a threaded groove 9. A four-layer indicator element 10 is screwed onto the threaded axis in the form of a circular ring, consisting of a base of white hard plastic, on the upper side of which a double-sided adhesive film is attached on one side, on the other side of which a dispersed indicator layer of a finely dispersed dye soluble in hydrocarbon fuel and insoluble in water is fixed, and the top layer is an adhesive coating of white paper - an absorption layer.

EFFECT: expanding the scope of the indicator device with a simultaneous increase in the sensitivity and efficiency of detecting an underground leak of liquid hydrocarbon fuel at a depth of up to one meter at the locations of underground equipment with fuel.
