FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: presence of nanocrystals in lithium disilicate results in displacement of total spectrum of luminescence of trivalent cerium ions into long-wave region and increase of total output of scintillations. Initial glass and composite of glass and nanocrystals include as a component natural Li or Li, enriched with Li-6 isotope for higher sensitivity to thermal neutrons, as well as other elements from Si, Al, Mg and rare-earth activator from Ce, Pr, Eu, Tb, Dy, Yb.
EFFECT: increased output of scintillations of silicate glass, containing lithium and activated by ions of rare-earth activators.
