SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of encoding and decoding video data. The method includes generating a prediction block based on interpolated sub-integer pixel values, where the sub-integer pixel value is its interpolated value, calculating the sub-integer pixel value based on an interpolation filter and a filter support set for said location of the sub-integer pixel, applying a residual block to the prediction block to reconstruct the initial block. In the method, the location of the sub-integer pixel is linked to a full integer pixel.
EFFECT: high efficiency of encoding video data.
