SUBSTANCE: protective coating on the inner surface of discharge covers of radiation sources contains aluminium oxide, yttrium oxide, magnesium oxide, zirconium oxide and thorium oxide.
EFFECT: increasing inertness of material of a burner on inner surface a discharge cover with regard to vapours of corrosive metals at high temperatures and pressures; increasing physical service life of mercury and caesium lamps at inconsiderable reduction of radiation during operation within those values of service life.
