FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and is intended for use in gas-discharge bactericidal amalgam lamps. In the gas-discharge bactericidal lamp consisting of a quartz shell, electrode assemblies, gas filling and lamp bases the protective coating is made from oxides of yttrium, silicon, calcium, magnesium and zirconium in the following proportions (wt%): yttrium oxide 75-80, silicon oxide 13-15, zirconium oxide 4-5, magnesium oxide 2-3, calcium oxide 1-2. Amalgam contains mercury, indium, zinc, cadmium at the specified ratio of components, herewith the protective coating thickness is equal to 0.1-4 µm, and the amalgam is placed in the center of the lamp on one or two points.
EFFECT: technical result is the increase of initial values of ultraviolet radiation output, its stability during operation of the lamps at optimum technological process of its application and service life of the lamps.
