SUBSTANCE: plant comprises a frame, a drum mounted on it with the ability of rotation, consisting of sections. The drum is made expandable in the length to its barrel-shaped centre of four or more bands of variable width of convex curved shape, folded in a vertical plane in the longitudinal direction and bent along the helical lines in the transverse direction on the barrel-shaped mandrel, as well as bent by notch with the bevelled walls in transverse-longitudinal direction, located pairwise at an angle to one another on both sides of the bands to form on the perimeter of the drum of polygonal helical lines directed towards each other and polygonal helical surfaces with the variable pitch. Along the entire length of the drum a barrel-shaped spring is mounted with flat section of turns and a device for changing the pitch of turns by its stretching or compressing.

EFFECT: use of the invention enables to increase the quality of fodder obtained.
