FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of automatics on railway transport. In the method they analyse output voltage at the outlet of amplitude detectors of sensors as wheelsets travel, simultaneously they check how frequency of self-contained generators generation varies. Besides, if the frequency reduced to certain specified value, the decision is made that exactly the wheel flange passed, which should be taken into account when counting wheelsets, if the frequency increased, the decision is made that an object not from metal passed, and variation of voltage at the outlet of amplitude detectors in this case is not taken into account when counting wheelsets. The device comprises two electronic self-contained generators, the first and second amplitude detectors, a controller, a device of galvanic isolation and a unit of data transmission. Additionally a two-way logic circuit "OR", the second controller and a communication line are introduced.

EFFECT: invention provides for higher reliability of wheelsets travel registration.
