FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: system operates as a sighting device, a thermal imager, a range-finder and a ballistic computer. The thermal-imaging sighting system comprises a sealed housing (1) in which there is a germanium lens (2), a thermal-imaging module (3) connected to a computing device, which is connected to an electronic display (4) for outputting a video image, a focusing unit (5) with a handle and an eyepiece (6). The germanium lens is rigidly mounted in the housing. The focusing unit (5) is configured to move the thermal-imaging module along the optical axis of a fixed lens. The focusing unit comprises a focusing unit housing (8) with a guide (14) and a shaft (10) with a cam gear (11), placed perpendicular to the guide. A carriage (12) is mounted on the guide for thermal-imaging module, which is capable of moving longitudinally. The base of the carriage interacts with the cam gear of the shaft, which provides movement of the carriage.
