FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nonferrous metallurgy, particularly, to production of deformable free-cutting aluminium-based alloys containing magnesium and lead. This process comprises loading in furnace and smelting of all selected components of the charge apart from magnesium and lead. The latter are added as an addition alloy containing 70-40% of magnesium and 30-60% of led. Then, the melt is mixed, refined, settled and crystallised.

EFFECT: compliance with international standards for content of lead and magnesium in free-cutting alloys.
