FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: powders for die preparation are mixed and subjected to mechanical alloying in protective atmosphere with formation of massif of granules from powder particles. Mechanical alloying is performed in protective atmosphere within 40-60 hours. The obtained massif of granules is added by single-crystal fibres α-Al2O3 and the obtained mix is subjected to bilateral pressing at the temperature 1400-1430°C and the pressure 28-35 MPa within at least 3 minutes.

EFFECT: increase of ultimate strength of niobium-based composite material.
