SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine and can be used for long-term treatment of depression or anxiety for longer than 12-month period in patient who previously received drug treatment, with treatment being stopped because of undesirable side effects, associated with body weight. For this purpose 1-[2-(2,4-dimethylphenylsulphanyl)phenyl]piperazine and/or its pharmaceutically acceptable salts are applied. Also claimed are: method of long-term treatment of depression or anxiety and application of 1-[2-(2,4-dimethylphenylsulphanyl)phenyl]piperazine and/or its pharmaceutically acceptable salts for production of medication.
EFFECT: group of inventions provides reduction of side effects, associated with change of patient's body weight in long-term treatment.
