FIELD: physics, navigation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radar engineering and can be used in passive location of fast-moving objects. A method for passive location of a mobile object, based on receiving signals emitted by the object, optimum processing of the received signals, receiving the signals emitted by the object at points spaced apart in space, calculating a cross-correlation function of signals received at spaced-apart points, with preliminary compensation for the Doppler frequency shift of the signals, determining presence of an object in the scanned space when the pulse value of the correlation function of the signals exceeds a threshold, wherein compensation for the Doppler frequency shift of the received signals is carried out via multiplicative conversion of the frequency spectrum of said signals, calculation of the cross-correlation function of the received signals is carried out multiple times by varying the value of the correcting frequency shift of the signal, after calculating the cross-correlation function of the signals, selecting an output signal with the maximum pulse value.
EFFECT: high efficiency of passive location owing to high sensitivity and noise-immunity of the location system, enabling passive location of a high-speed object in interference conditions.
