SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless communication. The invention discloses a method and a device for determining uplink power on a WTRU. The WTRU operates in an aggregated carrier system. The WTRU is configured to receive a plurality of uplink power parameters allocated to one of a plurality of uplink carriers and to receive a transmitted power control command allocated to one of the plurality of uplink carriers. The WTRU is configured to determine path losses for one of the plurality of uplink carriers and to determine transmitted power for one of the plurality of uplink carriers based on the plurality of power parameters, the transmitted power control command and path losses.

EFFECT: enabling a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) to perform complex operations for proper UL transmission power control.
