FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to current collectors. An automatic current collector for the transmission of electric energy from an overhead power line to hybrid cargo vehicles comprises an on-board computer in the driver's cabin and a laser locator to measure distances between wires and contact bars of the current collector. The current collector also comprises a pair of vertical hydraulic cylinders with a pressure sensor installed behind the driver's cabin, a horizontal guide rail with a reflector fixed at rods of the hydraulic cylinders movable vertically and perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle. On the guide rail there is a movable carriage with a motor, contact bars for the connection to the power supply line and a laser locator.
EFFECT: automatic connection of the current collector to the power supply line.
