FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to granulated thermoplastic polyurethane technology and can find wide application in manufacturing of various long components of different configurations produced by extrusion moulding. The claimed result is achieved by equipping the granulated TPU plant with a reactor provided with a double-rotor mixing unit, with a thermal softening unit and a granulator; the plant comprises a gear pump connected to the reactor, and a static mixer with a rotor diameter of the double-rotor mixing unit related to a rotor length as 1: 1.5-2.5. In the particular case of the implementation, the granulated TPU plant additionally accommodates a parallel reactor provided with a double-rotor mixing unit connected to a gear pump. Implementing the method for producing granulated TPU is ensured by producing PU pre-polymer by conducting a reaction of an oligoester with a calculated amount of methylene diisocyanate in the reactor equipped with a double-rotor mixing unit, adding 1,4-butanediol to the prepared PU pre-polymer while stirring constantly, feeding the produced reaction mixture into a static mixer at 180-220°С and granulating thereafter.

EFFECT: improving the mechanical properties of the products manufactured by granulated thermoplastic polyurethane processing; in the particular case of the implementation - increasing a plant performance within the developed continuous method for producing granular TPU.
