FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a hot-melt adhesive composition, a method for its application and use in binding, gluing wood, laminating a surface, and so forth. Said composition contains i) at least one thermoplastic polyurethane and ii) from 0.1 to 50 wt. % in terms of total weight of composition of at least one additive. Thermoplastic polyurethane can be obtained by a method comprising a) reacting a mixture containing at least one polyester polyol and at least one polyisocyanate, and b) reacting the reaction product of step a) with at least one substituted or unsubstituted diol which contains at least one primary and at least one secondary OH group. Method of applying hot-melt adhesive composition involves 1) melting hot-melt adhesive composition in heated container without mixing or shearing, 2) pumping molten composition from step 1) by gear or piston pump through heated hose, and 3) application of composition by means of nozzle, roller or spray head on base.

EFFECT: obtained hot-melt adhesive composition can be used in standard process equipment used to treat common thermoplastic hot-melt adhesives without the need to supply a large amount of heat and application of shearing forces.
