SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in chemical industry. In order to obtain samples of nanosized titanium dioxide with a rutile structure or the structure of a mixture of anatase and rutile in equal ratio, a reaction mixture is prepared by dispersing hydrated titanyl sulphate powder with a peroxo compound. The product is then annealed. The peroxo compound used can be ammonium peroxodisulphate, an adduct of carbamide with hydrogen peroxide or 30% aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution.

EFFECT: invention simplifies the process of producing nanosized titanium dioxide by reducing the number of steps.
