FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of obtaining nanosize η-modification of titanium dioxide by sulfate method includes mixing powder-like TiOSO4·xH2SO4·yH2O with water, heating mixture for carrying out hydrolysis, further addition of coagulant, cooling and separation of precipitation by filtering. Precipitation is washed with water and acetone and dried. For more complete titanium dioxide precipitation mixing powder-like TiOSO4·xH2SO4·yH2O with water is carried out with weight ratio TiOSO4·xH2SO4·yH2O:H2O=1:(3.5÷6.5). Heating is performed at temperature 75-97°C. As coagulant used is potassium chloride solution with its content 1.5-4 mol/l in final volume of reaction mixture.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to simplify process of obtaining nanosize titanium dioxide, reduce its toxicity, increase product output.
