FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: method includes precipitating titanium hydroxide from an aqueous solution of an inorganic salt thereof, separating, washing, dissolving in hydrogen peroxide, establishing the required pH of the solution, precipitating hydrated titanium dioxide from the peroxocomplex solution, washing, drying and heat treatment. The hydrated titanium dioxide is precipitated from an aqueous titanium peroxocomplex solution with ethyl alcohol or acetone.

EFFECT: method enables to obtain a photocatalyst based on undoped titanium dioxide, having anatase phase thermal stability and high photocatalytic activity in organic dye decomposition reactions.
