FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: to determine the effect of various substances on gas-production capacity of soils under laboratory and field conditions, and selection of gas-production inhibitors in soils the volume of gas emitted from the test sample of soil, subjected to treatment with chemical substances or their mixtures, is compared to the volume of gas emitted from the reference sample of soil. The weight of the reference soil is placed in a flask, distilled water is added, and then closed with a plug with a gas outlet pipe connected to the U-shaped glass manometer, and the manometer indications are read at certain time intervals. The test sample of soil is analysed similarly after application of the test chemical compound or its mixtures.
EFFECT: invention enables to predict change in the gas-production capacity of soils under the influence of external factors, to select the gas-production inhibitors and their optimal concentrations.
