FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of novel oxoacetate compounds of trivalent platinum M2Pt2O(CH3COO)5, where M=Li, K, Na, Rb, Cs. Said compounds can be used for synthesis of other platinum compounds, in homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis as catalyst precursors, and as starting compounds for producing nanosized platinum particles. The platinum compounds are formed either by reacting freshly prepared platinum dioxide tetrahydrate PtO2*4H2O with acetates of alkali metals selected from: lithium, sodium, potassium, rubidium, caesium; or by reacting hydroxoplatinates of said alkali metals M2Pt(OH)6 with acetic acid in both cases at 90-118°C to form a dark-magenta solution, from which acetic acid is then removed in a vacuum at temperature not higher than 100°C and dark-magenta solid hygroscopic compounds of formula M2Pt2O(CH3COO)5, where M=Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs, are obtained.

EFFECT: invention enables to obtain stable platinum oxoacetate compounds with high output, which are soluble in water and are suitable for producing heterogeneous platinum catalysts.
