SUBSTANCE: method and device to detect membrane leaks in membrane filtering device means that filtering device contains package of similar chamber plates, having dents, that create filtering chambers between the adjacent chamber plates of the package. To the filtering chambers suspension can be supplied from the aide of the filtering fabric, where cake is created, and suspension can penetrate through the filtering fabric to the side, where the filtrate is present such, that solid content of the suspension is deposited on the filtering fabric in form of the filtering cake, each filtering chamber contains movable membrane, and membrane and chamber plate limit the squeezing out work space, and at that the chamber plate contains the input channel to supply the injected medium in the squeezing out work space for the mechanical squeezing out of the appropriate filtering cake. The method contains stages: injected medium supply to the appropriate squeezing out work space of each filtering chamber, after supply of the injected medium tight closing of the appropriate input channel, pressure monitoring in the squeezing out work space, and determination of the pressure decreasing, that is evidence of the appropriate membrane leak.

EFFECT: increased efficiency of the membrane leak detection.
