SYSTEM OF NOTICE ABOUT BLINDING EFFECT OF LOW SUN AT AIRCRAFT CREW DURING LANDING Russian patent published in 2015 - IPC G01W1/00

Abstract RU 2565805 C2

FIELD: instrumentation.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to meteorological instrument-making and may be used to warn the aircraft crew about blinding effect of low Sun above the horizon during landing. For this purpose the system comprises a sensor of background brightness 1, an analysing unit 2 and an information unit 3. At the same time the space angle of the receiving device in the background brightness sensor 1 strictly complies with the optimal sector of aircraft captain view during landing 8; orientation of the central optical axis of the brightness sensor 1 strictly complies with direction of the aircraft captain look at the final stage of descent and landing to the provided landing strip (LS) 4 with the set course; the analysing unit 2 provides for comparison of the value of the measured brightness with the upper limit value of brightness of the observed surface under normal operator activity; the information unit 3 provides for information to the aircraft crews and air traffic support facilities about limited to "zero" landing visibility in direction of the landing course as a result of blinding effect of the Sun.

EFFECT: invention provides for expansion of functional capabilities.
