FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: method to operate a resonant measurement system (1) is provided and described, first of all, in the form of a mass Coriolis flowmeter or in the form of a densimeter, besides, the resonant measurement system (1) comprises at least one measurement tube (3) with medium flowing through it (2), at least one generator (4) of oscillations, at least one sensor (5a, 5b) of oscillations, and at least one data control and processing unit (6), besides, the measurement tube (3) with the help of the generator (4) of oscillations is put in oscillatory motion with the specified frequency of excitation and the first amplitude, and the resulting oscillatory motion of the measurement tube (3) is registered by means of at least one sensor (5a, 5b) of oscillations. Simple and valid detection of multi-phase flows is achieved by the fact that the data control and processing unit (6) from the recorded resulting oscillatory motion detects at least one first measured value (xi) at least for one state parameter (x) dependent on the amplitude with multi-phase medium (2), that the measurement tube (3) with the help of the generator (4) of oscillations is put into oscillatory motion with frequency of excitation and the second amplitude different from the first amplitude, the resulting oscillation of the measurement tube (3) is recorded, and the data control and processing unit (6) from the recorded resulting oscillatory motion detects at least one second value (xj) for the state parameter (x) dependent on the amplitude with multi-phase medium (2), and that the deviation (Δxij) of the measured value of at least one of the first measured values (xi) at least from one of appropriate second measured values (xj) is used as a parameter of multi-phase flow availability.

EFFECT: increased validity of detection of availability of multi-phase flows without complication of a resonant measurement system.
