FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: measurements are carried out by means of orthodontic compass in oral cavity or on models from four sides: on vestibular and oral surfaces from the most apically located part of gum contour to cutting edge or from tearing tuber on front teeth and to the deepest point of one of fissures on lateral teeth; from mesial and distal surfaces from apex of gingival papilla to the deepest point of fissure on lateral teeth or to cutting edge or tearing cusp on front ones. Obtained values are summed up and divided by four, obtaining average value of crown height. Due to carrying out measurements, which take into account height of cusps, depth of fissures and state of gingival edge of all tooth surfaces, method makes it possible in more reliable way to determine height of clinical crowns of teeth, carry out measurements in oral cavity and on models and select orthopaedic constructions with additional retention devices or justify necessity of surgical correction of gingival edge.

EFFECT: increased accuracy of determining parameters of crown part of tooth.
