FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to dentistry, and is intended for use in planning the location of the edge of an artificial crown from contact surfaces. Before the preparation of the apical gingival margin, the biological width is measured using intraoral contact radiography of the tooth with a radiopaque temporary crown made to the level of the gum. On an X-ray image, the distance from the edge of the crown to the level of the bone edge of the alveoli is measured from two contact surfaces. From each of the obtained two numbers, 2 mm are subtracted and the permissible values of the immersion of the edge of the crown under the gum from the contact surfaces are obtained.

EFFECT: method, by measuring the biological width on the contact surfaces of the teeth, makes it possible to estimate the boundary of the crown immersion from the contact surfaces.
