PANCREATIC STENT Russian patent published in 2015 - IPC A61F2/82 A61F2/90 A61F2/848

Abstract RU 2566082 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical equipment, namely to stent design. A pancreatic stent comprises a mesh tubular member made of nitinol and having distal and proximal ends, an elastic envelope connected to the tubular member, and an extraction thread. The silicone envelope is attached to the tubular member lengthwise and has an extension at the distal end of the tubular member and providing an antireflux valve. A narrow part is formed at 4-6 mm from the distal end of the tubular member and can be secured in an orifice of major pancreatic duct when placing the stent. The silicone envelope is perforated in the proximal direction of the narrow part along the remaining length of the tubular member. The extraction thread is attached to a top end of the distal end.

EFFECT: preventing potential complications of pancreatic stenting: flow of the intestinal contents into the pancreatic duct system, retention cyst formation, manifestation or progression of pancreatic inflammation and autolysis and stent migration into both a lumen of major pancreatic duct, and a duodenum.
