FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to control module and welding system for arc welding (versions). For connection of welding power source (12) and wire feeder (16) external control module (14) is used. Welding power source (12) is intended for exchange of control signals, feedback signals, etc., via control cable (30) connected to wider standard feeder. External control module (14) allows application of power supply (12) with wire feeder (16) designed to allow data exchange integrated in single cable (32) with welding supply. Module (14) is connected to welding cable (26) and blank cable (28) extending from power supply (12) and to control cable (30) extending from multiple-pin connector at power supply. Module (14) is connected to wire feeder (16) via welding cable (32). Module combines data with welding supply for transfer to wired feeder and for isolation of data from welding supply for feeding to power supply.
