FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to operation of pipeline, namely heat pipelines, and can be used for detection of leakage points of heat pipelines. A method for determining a leakage point of the heat pipeline involves arrangement in the inspected section of the heat pipeline in heat insulation with dielectric properties, which covers the pipeline, of at least one line of current-carrying signal conductor. Electrical resistance control devices are installed on conductor ends. At least in one line of the current-carrying signal conductor there installed in series at specified intervals are resistors having equal electrical resistance values exceeding the resistance value of heat insulation at soaking. Distance to the leakage point from the electrical resistance control device is determined by division of the measured total electrical resistance of the current-carrying signal conductor by an electrical resistance value of one resistor and by multiplication of the obtained result by distance between resistors.
EFFECT: improving control accuracy of the pipeline insulation state.
