FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of electrical products from a composite material. An electrical product is made from current-conducting composite material by cold moulding, wherein the current-conducting composite material contains 40-55 wt % natural graphite powder, 30-15 wt % novolac resin-based binder, 30 wt % copper powder and additionally polyvinyl acetate as a plasticiser in amount of 9-35 wt % of the total weight of the powdered components. The method of making an electrical product includes mixing natural graphite powder and copper powder, adding binder to the obtained mixture, homogenising the mixture and adding polyvinyl acetate, mixing and drying the obtained mass at 45°C for 20 hours, cold moulding the product and carrying out high-temperature treatment with a heating rate of 1.5°C/min to 1250°C and holding for 3 hours.

EFFECT: obtaining low-density current-conducting material which makes moulding easier and prevents delamination of the product.
