SUBSTANCE: method involves conducting transcraneal Doppler sonography, measuring a systolic blood velocity in the medial cerebral artery of the involved and intact sides of the brain, and calculating an asymmetry coefficient. These parameters are used to derive prognostic coefficients F1, F2 and F3 to be correlated thereafter. If F1 is more than F2 and F3, a high probability of the lethal outcome is predicted. If F2 is more than F1 and F3, the total disability is predicted. F3 exceeding F1 and F2 shows moderate disability.

EFFECT: method enables increasing the effectiveness and purposive nature of the methods of an intensive therapy of active haemorrhagic stroke by assessing an intensity of neurological deficiency on the first five days of the onset of the disease.
