FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed exhaust gas cleaning apparatus for an internal combustion engine, which cleans exhaust gas in a first outlet channel and a second outlet channel, extending from an internal combustion engine. The apparatus comprises: a connecting channel which extends from the connecting section of the first outlet channel and the second outlet channel; a first auxiliary catalytic NOx neutraliser placed in the first outlet channel; a second auxiliary catalytic NOx neutraliser placed in the second outlet channel; a main catalytic NOx neutraliser placed in the connecting channel; a first addition section which adds an ammonia source with a first addition value into a section upstream of the first auxiliary catalytic NOx neutraliser, thereby delivering aqueous urea solution to the first auxiliary catalytic NOx neutraliser; a second addition section which adds an ammonia source with a second addition value into a section upstream of the second auxiliary catalytic NOx neutraliser, thereby delivering aqueous urea solution to the second auxiliary catalytic NOx neutraliser; a first temperature sensor which determines temperature of the first auxiliary catalytic NOx neutraliser; and a controller which controls the first addition value and the second addition value, the controller being configured to: compare temperature, determined by the first temperature sensor, with a first reference temperature set in advance, and performing, based on the comparison, emergency control of addition in order to increase one of the first addition value and the second addition value to a first altered addition value and to reduce the other to a second altered addition value.
EFFECT: efficient NOx purification in an exhaust gas cleaning apparatus.
