FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to recovery of coating on pipe (10). Note here that pipe (10) comprises carcass (31) and polymer coating (32, 42) around said carcass (31). Said polymer coating (32, 42) has damaged zone (11A, 11B) to be recovered. Claimed process comprises preparation of pipe (10) for repair by removal of coating around damaged zone of polymer coating (32, 42) to get recovery zone (12A, 12B). Pipe (10) is heated in recovery zone (12A, 12B) to temperature above fusing point of polymer coating (32, 42). Adhesive polymer material (36, 46) is applied on heated recovery zone (12A, 12B) to cover the entire said recovery zone. Note here that said adhesive polymer material (36, 46) is bonded with pipe and recovery zone is cooled down. In compliance with this invention said adhesive polymer material contains modified polyethylene with at least 90 mol % of ethylene links.
EFFECT: high efficiency and high-quality repair.
