SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the method of treatment of gas containing nitrogen oxides (NOx). The method of treatment of gas containing nitrogen oxides (NOx) according to which NOx reduction reaction is conducted with a nitrogen-containing reducer, differs in that the reduction reaction catalyst is the catalytic system containing composition based on zirconium, cerium and niobium with the following weight content in terms of oxides: cerium oxide: in the range from 5 up to 50%, and the indicated last value is excluded; niobium oxide: in the range from 5 up to 20%; zirconium oxide: the rest.

EFFECT: gas treatment efficiency improvement.
