FIELD: chemical and physical processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a catalyst for the treatment of exhaust gases in the selective catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides, comprising: (a) from 1 to 99% by weight of an octahedral molecular sieve (OMS) containing manganese oxide; and (b) from 1 to 99% by weight of a molecular sieve with medium pores and/or coarse pores, wherein the catalyst is a composite catalyst and an octahedral molecular sieve (OMS) is formed in the presence of a molecular sieve. Invention also relates to a process for the selective catalytic reduction of a gaseous exhaust mixture comprising nitrogen oxides, comprising the selective reduction of a gaseous mixture, comprising nitrogen oxides in the presence of a reducing agent and a catalyst. Invention also relates to an exhaust gas processing article, a method for treating nitrogen oxides in a mixture of exhaust gases and a process for treating ammonia in exhaust gases.
EFFECT: technical result is to obtain a higher conversion of NOx.
