SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway transport and describes the design and the connection joint of lateral and end walls of the open box car body. The connection joint of the top cords of side and end walls of the open box car body contains the lateral (1) and the end (2) walls consisting of the cover plates (3), the frameworks (4) with the stands (5) and the top cords (6, 7). The top cord of the end wall is prolonged by the end side over the side surface of the top cord of the lateral wall oriented towards the joint inner side. In the first and second versions on the lower surface of the top cord of the lateral wall the stiffening element is installed. On top and external side lateral surface of the top cord of the lateral wall in the first version the angle-shaped joining element is installed on the surface, and in the second version the polygon-shaped lath is installed. The angle and the lath are joined with the top cord of the lateral wall and the stiffening element. In the third version on the lower surface of the top cord of the lateral wall the edges located near the bearing vertical elements of the top cord of the end wall are installed.
