FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method includes preparing a working solution containing the following components, wt %: calcium nitrate tetrahydrate - 1.30-1.33; magnesium nitrate hexahydrate - 1.41-1.44; aluminium nitrate nanohydrate - 20.71-21.11; citric acid hydrate - 14.20-14.70; bidistilled water - the balance. The solution is stirred until the completion of the polycondensation reaction and held for 7 days at 25°C. The obtained gel is dried in a rotary evaporator at temperature of 40-60°C and pressure of 30-50 mbar, followed by annealing in a muffle furnace at 1200°C for 3-5 hours with a heating rate of 5-10 deg/min. The obtained single-phase hexagonal calcium-magnesium aluminate has the formula CaMgAl10O17, agglomerate size of 5-35 mcm, said agglomerates having a homogeneous particle diameter of 0.1-0.7 mcm.
