FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention is referred to a direct-current high-voltage source that comprises a set of capacitors with the first electrode (37), which may be reduced to the first potential, with the second electrode (39), which is placed concentrically to the first electrode (37) and may be reduced to the second potential differing from the first one by at least one intermediate electrode (33) placed concentrically between the first electrode (37) and the second one (39) and which may be reduced to an intermediate potential placed between the first and second potentials. A switching device (35) for charging the set of electrodes is coupled with the electrodes (33, 37, 39) in the set of electrodes and designed so that at the operation of the switching device (35) the electrodes (33, 37, 39) placed concentrically towards each other in the set of electrodes may be reduced to rising steps of the potential. The switching device (35) for the set of electrodes includes electronic valves (63), specifically controlled electronic valves. Besides, the invention is related to a particle accelerator with the similar direct-current high-voltage source.
EFFECT: improved operational stability and energy of accelerated particles.
