FIELD: optical engineering. SUBSTANCE: optical fiber has refractive index profile in the area of glass core having at least three parts. The part in the fiber center has positive relative refractive index. At least one part positioned some distance apart from the central axis has negative relative refractive index. Negative full dispersion at 1550 nm wavelength does not exceed 150 ps/nm x km. Communication line has two segments of optical fibers which parameters are selected in a way that nonlinear communication line discriminant factor does not exceed the nonlinear optical fiber discriminant factor of the first fiber.
