FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: in the first version, optical fibre is formed from cladding with an essentially uniform refraction index and a three-layer core which includes a first, a second and a third core having uniform positive relative differences Δ1, Δ2 and Δ3 of refraction indices in regions from the centre to radius R1, from R1 to R2 and from R2 to R3 respectively. In the second version, optical fibre is formed from cladding with an essentially uniform refraction index and a three-layer core which includes a first, a second and a third core having maximum relative difference Δ1, minimum relative difference Δ2 and maximum relative difference Δ3 of refraction indices in regions from the centre to radius R1, from R1 to R2 and from R2 to R3 respectively. Δ1, Δ2, Δ3, R1 and R2 satisfy relationships given in the formula of invention.
EFFECT: stabilisation of characteristics in the longitudinal direction, improved manufacturability and suppression of induced Brillouin scattering.
