FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: method includes supply to pre-heated first reaction zone of the reaction chamber of uranium hexafluoride and water steam, that reacts with production of uranyl fluoride, supply to the second reaction zone of the reaction chamber of the water steam and hydrogen mixture for restoration in it of the uranyl fluoride produced in the first to the uranium dioxide. At that supply of the water steam and hydrogen mixture to the second reaction zone is performed through nozzles located in its cone part, to vertical pipes located coaxially with nozzles, to create in pipes of the ascending straight two-phase flows, that are converted in curved flows by the baffles in the separating zone, for preliminary separation to solid and gaseous phases. Then to the second reaction zone the particles separated in the separating zone are deposited creating a circulating layer of mixture of powders of uranyl fluoride and uranium dioxide. After progressive accumulation of the volume of mixture of powders of uranyl fluoride and uranium dioxide the process of water steam and uranium hexafluoride supply is terminated, and hydrogen is supplied. Then post reduction of uranyl fluoride to uranium dioxide is performed, and the commercial powder of uranium dioxide is unloaded.

EFFECT: production of powder of uranium dioxide with improved quality, and increased productivity.
