FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to drawing of optical fibres. Optical fibre workpiece comprises, from centre to periphery, the central core, mid core, recessed groove and outer shell. Proposed method comprises the steps that follow. First rod is made of central core. Note here that said first core is made by chemical deposition from vapour phase on first tube. Second hollow rod is made composed by recessed groove and fitted on said first rod.
EFFECT: possibility of making the preforms of larger size for production of fibres with decreased loses at flexures, sufficient parameters of optical transmission.
