FIELD: communication.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of optical glass fiber primary preform. Method for producing the primary preform consists in using plasma-chemical process of evaporative deposition, wherein alloyed or unalloyed glass-forming precursors are directed inside a hollow glass tube of the base, the reaction zone in the form of plasma performs back-and-forth movement along the length of said hollow glass tube of the base between turning point near the infeed end and turning point near the outlet end of the hollow tube of the base, where the tube of the base is located in a furnace, and conditions held in said reaction zone are enable one or more sets of glass layers consisting of at least two separate glass layers are deposited on the inner surface of said tube of the base.

EFFECT: technical result consists in preparing primary preforms having large used length, the effect of optical cone may occur regardless of geometrical cone, the refraction index and/or area of cross section can be accurately set the desired way as a function of position in longitudinal direction of the primary primary preform.
