FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the production of disinfectants, deodorants and bleaching agents and when disinfecting water. The method of producing aqueous chlorine dioxide solution includes steps of producing a chlorite, a peroxodisulphate, a chlorite and peroxodisulphate compound in an aqueous system with molar ratio of peroxodisulphate to chlorite [S2O8 2-]/[ClO2 -] greater than 1, wherein an additional buffer is not added.
EFFECT: invention simplifies the process, while obtaining a highly pure, storage-stable aqueous chlorine dioxide solution.
