PRESBYOPIA LENS WITH PUPIL SIZE CORRECTION BASED ON LEVEL OF REFRACTIVE ERROR Russian patent published in 2015 - IPC G02C7/04

Abstract RU 2568961 C2

FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: method comprises creating a basic optical structure of presbyopia lenses having a given functions; determining the optical power profile of the basic optical structure and scaling the radial arrangement of the given functions of the basic optical structure in proportion to the average pupil size in a population according to the degree of ametropy of the target individual. The scaling step includes determining the magnification factor which links pupil sizes with the range of the illumination level at a given level of ametropy of the basic structure with pupil sizes at the same illumination levels for the population with a target degree of ametropy on average and scaling the optical power profile according to equations for obtaining an optical power profile for a given degree of correction or degree of ametropy, given in the claim.

EFFECT: providing lenses whose structure is scaled based on pupil size to ensure constant performance regardless of refractive error correction.
