FIELD: ophthalmology.

SUBSTANCE: photochrome ophthalmic lens contains the main part containing an optical area and a peripheral area located adjacent to the optical area. One or more of the optical area and the peripheral area contain photochrome dye. The ophthalmic lens has a thickness profile, which is made based on cosmetic appearance of a target transmittance layer (%T), and at least part of the thickness profile is the same for two or more units of account (hereinafter – SKU), while each of two or more SKU has a different target prescription, and the optical area has a volume calculated with a certain diameter, which is constant for two or more SKU and is made based on cosmetic appearance or the target transmittance level (%T), or both.

EFFECT: making a thickness profile of a lens with a possibility of optimization of color change in activation of photochrome dye.
