CONFIGURATION OF LENS NOT DEPENDING ON PUPIL DIMENSION, AND METHOD FOR MYOPIA PROGRESS PREVENTION AND/OR INHIBITION Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC A61F9/00

Abstract RU 2627640 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: lens includes the central optical zone of ophthalmic lens, made with a possibility of foveal vision correction during myopia; the first peripheral zone surrounding the central optical zone and having an optical force that is increased to the first peak having an optical force of +1.00 D to +15.00 D, as compared to the optical force in the central optical zone and being at a distance of 0.75 mm to 2.0 mm from the central optical zone of the lens; and the second peripheral zone surrounding the first peripheral zone and having the second peak having an optical force of +1.00 D to +15.00 D, as compared to the optical force in the central optical zone and being at a distance of 2.0 mm to 3.5 mm from the central optical zone of the lens. The optical force of the second peak is different from the optical force of the first peak. The said lens is configured to form an optical force profile that provides retardation, inhibition or prevention of myopia progression to the pupil of about 3 mm up to approximately 7 mm in diameter.

EFFECT: optical force profile slows, inhibits or prevents myopia progression regardless of the pupil size.
